About
Let's have fun making Music!! I have been a local vocalist and musician performing in Colorado with many bands and as a Freelance Vocalist. My approach to teaching, is to keep my student's interested by teaching them the music they love and relate to. I am versatile in many styles such as Pop, R&B, Neo Soul, Brazilian, Jazz, and Latin. I perform regularly with the Colorado Symphony, Jefferson Symphony Orchestra, Conjunto Colores Salsa Band, Rockslide Wedding Band, Ritmo Jazz Latino Latin Jazz Band. I just recently opened for Michael McDonald at the Castle Rock Ampitheatre with my band called the Cristine Barbosa Band. I am also a jazz pianist. Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I love to chat with new students and find out what style of music they are listening to most. Then discuss what are their musical goals and where they feel they need improvement. This is always a good starting point in getting to know my students.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been singing professional gigs since i was 17 years of age. I have more than 20 years experience teaching private lessons. I have been a full time free lance vocalist and musician for more than 20 years as well. I have taken Master Classes at CU Boulder with many of the great pianists. Being a jazz pianist as well as vocalist also gives me the tools to teach my vocal students music theory if they are interestedin learning that side of music as well as the performance aspect.
