Phil was very patient and informative, knows his craft. Looking forward to taking more lessons and becoming the best player I can be.

New to Lessons.com. I initially contacted a different instructor and was surprised when many other instructors contacted me instead.

Phil, however, was the only one that actually addressed what I was looking for in particular in a teacher and had the required know-how to teach it.

All the others were very impersonal except for one who was honest and said he was also interested in what I am interested in.

The lesson itself was insightful just through getting to know one another as people and players.

I caught many things he was doing right off the bat and asked to rewind and slow it a bit.

It helps when you know what you’re after in material when you’re working with a pro such as Phil who can pull any rabbit he wishes out of his magic hat.

Phil can show you fundamentals to intricacies; hacks and efficiencies. I’ve already started on the road to creating the sound I have in my head. Phil can help you find that too.

I have been taking lessons with Phil for about 7 months now, and even in that short time I have seen great improvement in my playing. His lessons are very informative and encouraging. I also appreciate the online program he uses as it has really helped me to stay organized and consistent when practicing. Overall I have really enjoyed taking lessons with Phil and plan to continue lessons with him in the future.

20 years ago I had a guitar. Fiddled around with it, tried playing along to tabs, online self learning. Had no idea what I was doing. Got overwhelmed with information, frustrated, gave up!

I recently decided to pick up the guitar again at 40, but this time I wanted to really learn the instrument. I became dedicated to learning the fundamentals of playing guitar, not just playing along to some random tabs I found online. I needed customized guidance.

So, I decided to take in-person lessons with Phil 2 months ago, and I really feel like Im truly learning the guitar with Phils guidance. Phil gives me homework with each lesson, and in just a short period of time, I am able to strum along to a bunch of songs (given the chord progression) and I have confidence jamming along to a song using the pentatonic scale (given the key of the song). I was intimidated at first being 40 yrs old and new-ish, but Phil made me feel comfortable. Hes super chill and down to earth, no pressure. He took the time to understand my skill level and tailored my lessons based on that.

There is no doubt in my mind that I made the right decision to start taking in-person lessons with Phil. Otherwise, Id find myself frustrated YouTubing and Googling, and probably give up again. But, taking lessons with Phil gives me a lot of motivation to continue learning guitar and not give up this time!

Great system for beginner to advanced players!
