I previously performed throughout the tri-state area as a vocalist and bassist. I performed in several different bands and perform a variety of genres of music. I also have a Bachelors Degree in Music and a Masters in Education, so I combine my passion for music with my passion for teaching with each of my students.
I am a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and offer the chance for students to compete. I also hold two recitals throughout the year to give students a chance to showcase their abilities.
I like to encourage lifelong learners who will cherish their music abilities for life.
I enjoy sharing my love for music. It is amazing to see the growth that occurs in every lesson.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to offer a free 20 minute session to see if we are a good fit for each other. In this time I like to get to know the student's goals and abilities so I can then plan a program specific to your needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelors in Music from Western Connecticut State University and a Masters in Education from University of Bridgeport.
I am currently performing in various bands throughout CT performing a variety of genres of music.

How did you get started teaching?
I began working with students when I was attending college to supplement my income. I currently teach music at an elementary school and work with young children on a regular basis.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all ages and all levels.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My students recently performed in a Spring Concert. They performed live to a small audience and were ecstatic to have the opportunity to showcase their newly acquired talents. I also put together a video of each of their performances to share with those could not be there in person.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone you feel comfortable with. It can be challenging to be yourself and not be afraid to make mistakes when you are learning something new. For this reason, it is very important to feel comfortale with your teacher. Making mistakes is a part of growth.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are your goals. Different teachers can help you attain different goals.
