About
I am a very personable teacher and I perform locally within CT as an inspiration to my students and the public. I began playing piano over 25 years ago and it is one of my favorite things. I still enjoy practicing and learning more myself. I meet my students where they are, answer their questions and encourage them to keep progressing. Follow this link to learn more about me...

Music makes sense to me. I've always been gifted in this realm since a child. So I enjoy my work because it calms me. I don't need much effort to play and practice - it starts from within me. Hence, I named my business Soul Music. I love to play (esp. classical) and feel what the composer wanted to express through the song.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start with them wherever they left off with a previous teacher or if they're brand new to the piano, I make sure they learn what each note is called and where it's positioned on the piano. Then I began teaching them how to read music on ledger lines and translate that to the specific piano keys
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I began playing over 25 years ago. I was trained by the late Phinehas Valenti of Valenti School of Music in New Britain, CT. I won a state competition in 2006 and in 2010, began recording my own albums. I began my business of Soul Music in 2017 in which I now teach private lessons and perform throughout CT.

What types of students have you worked with?
I have taught children, teens and adults. Some with zero prior knowledge and others with some knowledge. Some of my students prefer classical, some sacred/religious and some pop.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am most fond of my classical concerts. My first was in 2017 at the Univ. of St. Joseph in West Hartford and then others around Bristol and Cheshire
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Take 2 lessons and get a feel of the style of teaching/learning. If it is challenging, enjoyable and you progress in those two weeks, keep taking lessons.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
1. What is your goal/focus in taking lessons? Is it for extra-curricular studies only or do you want a future in music?
2. How determined are you to press through the difficult weeks that seem dry but where it is still important to practice?
3. What style of music interests you?
4. Are you interested in theory lessons or simply reading/playing music?
