Hello, my name is Maria Oliveri. I have been teaching for over 25 years. I have teaching and performing experience in many different settings. I have taught in private schools, music schools, public schools and in my own private home studio. I love teaching and learning from all my students. We develop a great relationship where I get to know my students. I learn what their strengths and weaknesses are and I use that to create a very personalized teaching approach. Our lessons include technique, solo repertoire and theory.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
During our first lesson, I ask the students to show me what they can play already if they had lessons in the past. If they are brand new Ivsee what they know or have learnt from school or other sources. We discuss what their goals are and how I can help them reach those goals and move forward in their musical experience.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
i have a degree in Music Education. I have over 25 years of teaching and performing experience. I have taught in a variety of settings with many different age groups and abilitlites.
