I have taught private piano and saxophone lessons for 16 years, and tutored math for 6 years. I have been playing piano for 26 years and saxophone for 22 years. I have played in numerous Jazz and R&B bands and gigged throughout the tri-state area. I teach all styles of music and all skill levels. In addition to imparting a knowledge of reading notes to students, I like to provide them with an intuitive understanding of how music works, including chords and theory. I particularly love Jazz and R&B, and I like to teach students how to improvise and create their own melodies, and impart on them an ability to figure out their favorite songs without sheet music. Regarding my math experience, I scored a 760 on the SAT math, and I excelled at math courses through college and high school. Similar to my music teaching approach, I like to impart an intuitive understanding of how math works to the student.
