Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Each lesson is custom tailored to the student. Lesson plans are created based on what the student knows, how they learn and what they're interested in! If you've played before we'd ask you to bring in some material that you've been working on so we can get a better idea of your skill level. If you're just starting off, we'll make sure your experience is a fun one!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All our teachers have some sort of degree in music wether it's Music Performance or Education. Our teachers are, well... Teachers! Trained in the latest teaching techniques and able to work with all!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Lessons cost $35 per half hour or $70 per hour.
What types of students have you worked with?
Our teachers are trained and able to work with students of all learning styles, including those with learning disabilities.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure your teacher is qualified! You neighbor who plays in a band may be a great player, but is not a teacher! Check references and make sure they have a degree in music. Also be sure that you have a background check done on the teacher. Here at the acadmey, we do all that for you!
