As soon as my students have a grasp on the basic, I employ them to choose their own songs/pieces to learn. If they're enjoying themselves, they're going to practice more!
I am extremely experienced in teaching children and I always try to understand who each student is, apart from playing music. I like to get to know them and also figure out their best method of learning, as everyone is different.
Because life is busy, I am pretty flexible. If you need to switch days, thats okay. Virtual learning makes this a whole lot easier!
I love watching that moment when a student realizes that he or she actually played that song they chose. Watching their confidence build up is the best part for me. My goal is for my students to become better than me one day!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We use a children's beginner book that I've used for years. Its a great book that breaks down the basics little by little.
While working through this book, I learn more about the student. What music they like, movies they enjoy, musicals, video games, etc. I then find piano sheet music (level appropriate) from any one of these movies or video games, for them to begin learning!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I went to school for Audio Engineering and spent years working at a renowned recording studio.
At the same time, I began teaching piano lessons at a small music school. Since then, I've worked in other schools and have branched out to solely private lessons. 10+ years experience teaching ALL ages.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$35 per 30 minute lesson. Pay by lesson and I'm flexible to change the day/time if needed (I know things come up).
