About
I am always happy to see students light up as they discover the joy of music, specifically playing the piano. I enjoy teaching all ages in the warm inviting environment of my home. My goal is that each lesson is not only an opportunity to build on previous knowledge but for the student to build confidence by way of a positive and successful experience.
I charge $25 per half hour.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My typical process for working with a new student is not only to warmly greet them but to take time asking a few simple questions about themselves and sharing a little bit about myself also. I like to take time looking through the new book with the student and to explain to both parents and students that learning the piano Will require some efforts but should be fun along the way. I ask that parents pay attention during the lesson so that they can help their child throughout the week, especially younger children.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taken piano lessons all the way through high school on into college.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
The first lesson is free. I charge 20.00 per lesson.
How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching lessons after I graduated from college with a bachelor's in Elementary Education.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have taught all ages of students.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Last week one of my students came SO ready to attack his next song in anticipation of completing his book. There was much excitement and enthusiasm. I find this a great encouragement.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
My advise would be to look for a teacher whose lifestyle and personality makes you feel comfortable and is relatable.
Even more than musical expertise, seek out a teach who is naturally apt to teach.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Do I have a piano or weighted keyboard? ( Not absolutely necessary but to the student's advantage)
Can I afford the time and focus necessary to practice?
Do I have a quiet place to practice?
Will I be able to attend lessons regularly?
