Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
New students are encouraged to participate in a FREE one week trial offer to determine a proper fit between our programs and their needs.
This trial period affords new students the ability to work directly with their instructors and fellow students to fully understand the training protocols and garner a full understanding of training in a martial art.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of the instructors at KAMAS karate maintain rank, position, and status with leading associations. Annual certification requirements of each association are maintained by each of the instructors.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Tuition is processed monthly and credit card payments are accepted.
How did you get started teaching?
I started training in the martial arts 27 years ago, and have benefited from training in many different disciplines before focusing on Tang Soo Do. It was just natural that as I achieved rank, teaching would be included in my continual growth.
What types of students have you worked with?
Children, Teens, Adults, Childern with Special Needs.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
KAMAS Karate provided a Women's self-defense seminar to 16 local High School and College aged young ladies. The level of confidence earned by each participant was humbling and most rewarding.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
When the student is ready- the teacher will appear. Find a instructor that is passionate about teaching, committed to his/her students and their families and maintains an affinity for promoting the art and the student above his program.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
The term Karate has become generic. Many diciplines are available under the term martial arts. Each discipline carries its own unique training style. Students should evaluate- beyond buzz words and main stream media definitions- the foundation principles behind an art and truly explore the alignment of their individual interests and the discipline in which they persue.
