Frequently asked questions
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied Music at The Hartt School of Music, where I graduated with a degree in Music Management with a Jazz Performance Emphasis. I have performed with several bands and performing organizations and have participated in several music festivals including The Havana International Jazz Festival and several East Coast Jazz Festivals.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My lessons are $45/half-hour and $80/hour. Half hour lessons are recommended for beginners, but eventually an hour will be needed. I charge for lessons in 10-week sessions, which are $450/half-hour lessons for 10 weeks and $800/hour lessons for 10 weeks. 10-week sessions are all agreed to under a standard contract, which also serves as a receipt.
How did you get started teaching?
I have taught music all of my musical career. Being a music teacher naturally presents itself as you grow as a professional musician. I started seriously teaching in 2005, and have run several music programs in my career.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all age ranges in students. I start lessons at 5 years-old, but have enjoyed teaching and mentoring older students who have become proficient in music. Several of these students have moved on to pursue musical careers.
