About this pro

As a professional musician,(performing and recording) I have played all styles of music, therefore I teach a variety of methods and levels. You can be young in years or at heart- never too early or late!

Technology is our friend so online lessons are an option. During summer months, I teach by day at home and the rest of the year by student needs and my availability. I also teach digital keys, stage and vocal performance techniques. https://www.facebook.com/TorreLaRock21/

I enjoy seeing the faces of students light up when they have accomplished a goal and challenge themselves!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Pre-lesson interview discussing availability and goals. I take a limited amount of students and lay the foundation and outline for them individually.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Professionally trained music scholarship professional touring and recording musician, private tutorials throughout my career since the late 70s and 80s up to current year

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Some students require half an hour only while other students require the hour. Some spot tutorials can also be made available by request but not in place of lessons.  These are for coaching for special moments such as contests and performances, school events, etc.

How did you get started teaching?

Local friends and neighbors knew of my background and had children and sometimes it was themselves.

What types of students have you worked with?

From as young as kindergarten to teen and adults all wanting to learn.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I recently performed for a show (6 performances)at the Orlando Fringe Festival  with material that range from modern to standards and Broadway musicals.  I was able to show my range of playing to others and hopefully inspiring those who desire to play or perform.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Have a goal and a passion and respect the time we have by practicing and being on time.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

A student should always be honest whether they are beginner or further advanced about what they hope to learn and why
