I am a member of the National Guild for Piano Teachers. I have been an independent Teacher since 2006 I incorporate Keyboard/Piano lessons with Music Theory and Music History in my Musical package that I offer @ $35 a week (1 hour lesson) for Intermediate Students and $25 a week (each 30 minute lesson) for Beginners Ages 4-6, once or twice per week.
For beginners, I start lessons at age 4 if child is familiar with the alphabet.
Students will be assigned a Music Theory Workbook as well as sheet music books to practice at home. I offer Lessons from my home in Miami, FL.; Can travel to student’s home for an additional $5-$8 depending on distance.
*A piano or Keyboard instrument is required at student’s home. For Classical Music and Technique, a Piano is recommended.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I work with Beginners and Intermeduate students. Can travel to student’s home and I also teach from my home. Part of my criteria is to instruct students in music theory, music history and technique. Yearly Examinations on performance as well as quarterly examinations pertaining to Music theory and Music History knowledge, will be required.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
i would advise the student to look for an instructor who will not only teach piano, but who will also teach music theory, music composition and music history. This is most important for those students interested in classical piano performance or who are seeking a profession as a Music/Piano instructor.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should ask instructors if they were classically trained and what genre of music they specialize in.
