Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
If he/she is a beginner, I start with correct posture, recognition of black keys and white keys, letter names, basic note reading and ear training, and most importantly teaching he/she a song. If not a beginner, I will have the student play a song and will evaluate the strengths and weaknesses based on the performance. Most importantly I will find out what style of music my students listen to or what they are interested in playing.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA in music performance, play professionally around town, and over 20 years of experience

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

What are your interest. What are your goals(ex. just for fun/serious). How much time do you want to dedicate.
