More Than Music - Sax, Piano And Theory
About
I have taught professionally for more than 8 years. I have a Classical, Latin, and Jazz background as I have graduated with a BA in Classical Saxophone from Colombia and a BA in Commercial Composition here in the US. I have also performed as a Jazz musician in South Florida with legends such as Dr. Ed Calle and the Grammy awarded Mamblue Big Band and Paquito d' Rivera.
As a music teacher, my goal is to open my student's ears to different genres and to a better understanding of where all music comes from, along with good technique, posture, and practice schedules.
I am very proud of every one of my students, because they have become more complete, educated indiviuals that now have music to express themselves and share that curiosity I have for new genres and instruments. That feeling of pride drives me in this career.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, we figure out what previous music knowledge you have. Then, I make an ear assessment, which has to do with listening to sounds and recognizing basic music concepts. Depending on all that and what my student desires to learn, I decide what's my next step in terms of deciding the method of learning, books, songs, etc.
