I love teaching and helping people and writing and recording music. I love all genres of music and passionate about it and love seeing students thrive in their passions. I meet so many great people and I even learn things from them. Very rewarding. Once a student gains confidence and begins to see their improvement, the look on their faces says it all!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I play scales on the piano to find out their vocal range, work through some breathing techniques to see how they breathe. I let them sing a song so I can hear pitch, tone, and technique then we work on a plan together to set goals for what they want to achieve. I work with all genres. I give assignments at each lesson for them to work on until we meet again. I allow students to text me with questions if needed for clarification. I teach how to use your vocal chords the correct way and training is just like exercise. You have to exercise to correct bad habits.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I went to school at University of Tennessee where I majored in Music. I began writing and recording in college and pursued a music career. I wrote songs with other artist, worked with many producers and studios. I have recorded 2 albums and offer lessons via Skype to my students afar.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

How did you get started teaching?
I have always loved music and started singing when I was 5 and got my first guitar in High School. I taught myself to play and from there pursued a career in singing and songwriting. I majored at the University of Tennessee in vocal performance and begin to pursue a career in Nashville, Tennessee. I was married at 27 moved to Arizona and focused more on starting a family. Here is where I began to teach kids, teens, adults and groups. I attend songwriting classes, co-write with other artist and was involved on a worship team for over 20+ years. I continue to sing for studios as a backup singer for others, co- write with other musicians working on my next album. I believe if you love what you do, it isn't work at all!
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with all ages from 5 to 95. Doesn't matter the age and apply my techniques to any singer. I have worked with college students looking to audition for music programs in college (they were accepted) worked with Muscial Theater students and student looking to record, perform and travel.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I love teaching stuents and when they get confident in me and themselves, they begin to see and hear their vocals change and become powerful! That is so rewarding.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
That is a hard question. I believe a connection has to be made with one another because singing, writing and being a musician can feel uncomfortable and vulnerable. You should speak to the professional and see if there is a connection. If so and you will feel comfortable being yourself you will be able to achieve more.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
The best way to start is a phone call. I want to feel comfortable with anyone I am getting teaching from. If you feel comfortable, you will achieve more.
