Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I ask how long they have been playing golf. Then I ask if they have any lessons before. I make the student feel comfortable with me. I ask what they believe is the biggest issue in their golf game. I don't try to change an entire swing, just make little tweaks and explain how the golf swing works.
I explain that I am not a method teacher. Everyone is different.
I use slow-motion video and send an email the following day to the student on what we worked on. I provide the student with appropriate drills to do at home to get the feel of a great swing.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have studied and watched some of the best instructors in the country. I am a Certified PGA Class "A" Member and Certified through the PGA in Teaching and Coaching. I am certified through the PGA in Coaching through the American Developmental Model in learning. I am certified as a Callaway, Ping, TaylorMade, and Titleist club fitter.

One lessons is $90. I have series of lessons, 2 lessons for $160, 3 lessons for $220, 7 lessons for $370. The more lessons that are purchased the less the cost per lesson is.
How did you get started teaching?
I started in the Air Force. I had the teaching contract at every Air Force base I was stationed at. I am retired from the Air Force and that is a lot of duty stations. I have been with the PGA for over 35 years.
What types of students have you worked with?
Ladies, juniors, beginners, mid, low handicap players. Also professional golfers.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
The Drive, Chip and Putt for the juniors.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for one that has a passion for getting the student better. If the student hits the ball better, chips better, putts better, they will have more FUN!!! I don't sell lessons, I sell FUN.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Is the Instructor a Method Teacher. How long have they been teaching.
