I absolutely love teaching music to students of all ages! My areas of expertise include beginner to advanced violin and beginner piano. I have over 20 years of music experience, most of which I have taken formal training from very well-rounded violinists and music instructors. I was a member of different orchestras, including the Jacksonville Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Jacksonville Symphony Civic Orchestra. I'm also a live musician, playing for events in and around the Jacksonville area.
In my studio, the first (trial) lesson is FREE! And, don't worry about finding the right size violin beforehand, I have a violin in each size for you to try out before any committments are made!
VIOLIN TEACHING METHOD:
Beginners can expect to start with the Essential Elements Book 1 to familiarize themselves with the violin and how to read music.
Students who have had previous training from another teacher will be expected to continue the same material with me or will change the method of teaching, if necessary.
BEGINNER PIANO TEACHING METHOD:
Most piano method books are the same. However, I like to use Alfred's Basic Piano Library Books to start.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First lesson with me will always be FREE! Think of it as an audition that guarantees a 100% acceptance into my studio. I will ask the student a series of questions and will also want the student to perform a piece (if he or she has had previous training). This "audition" also allows the student to ask me any music-related questions to determine if I am fit for the job.
