Susan's Piano Studio
About
I offer private lessons in my home studio. The first lesson is a free introductory lesson.
I have been teaching for about fifteen years, in Boston, California, and here in Jacksonville, Florida, for the past six years. I have taught at Schroeder's School of Music, and Jacksonville School of Music.
My qualifications:
*Member of the Jacksonville Teacher's Association, Florida State Teachers Association, and Music Teachers National Association
*MM in Piano Performance from Boston University (Boston, MA)
*BM in Music/Piano Performance from Dominican University (San Rafael, CA)
I like the variety in teaching children of different ages, and adults, also.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
It varies with each student. First I need to find out if they play at all, either by ear, or if they are able to read music. Then, it also depends on the age of the student.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $20.00 for a half hour lesson, and $40.00 for and hour lesson.
How did you get started teaching?
I started very young and first learned from my mother, who also performed and taught piano.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students as young as 4 years old, with older, retired, adults as well, and all ages in between.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
It's important to talk to the teacher about what you are hoping to achieve and what styles of music you like.
