About

*First 30 minute lesson is free :) Let's get to know each other!

Hi! I am Lindsey Hammond, a violin performer and teacher. I have extensive experience in competitive violin performance, music education, and an education adult and child psychology, which prepared me for doing my best in helping students succeed. My two passions in life are violin and helping people, so I strive to be the best teacher for you to enjoy learning the violin.

As your teacher, I will guide you through the best violin books and pieces to make you a great violinist. Our repertoire will include standard works for technique practice, solos, and any music that you're interested in. And regardless of the piece, our focus will always be on having good technique and beautifully phrasing the music.

For most of my students in the past, I was teaching in-person. Now that I am only teaching online, I understand the limitations and have adapted my lessons for success. Also, I will be sending you free online resources and videos for you to learn from.

On top of all that, we'll have great fun! I'm easy going, and always want what's best for my students. My schedule for lessons is flexible, and I encourage students to message me any time if they have questions.

Let me know if you want more details or have questions!

I love performing violin, and teaching is like a bonus of fun in the profession! Helping people is a passion of mine, and there is nothing more valuable than a happy student.

    Frequently asked questions

    -Understand their skill level and experience

    -Learn about some goals that they have for their journey in learning the violin

    -Recommend curriculum to have for me to guide the student through

    -Begin lessons! Focusing on musical expression and technique are priorities.

    30min =$15

    60min = $25

    For all ages, I prefer meeting for a lesson once per week to keep the student on track by discussing any questions and moving forward in repertoire.

         I got started by teaching my classmates in high school. I would lead section practice, teach after school and help conduct the orchestra. When I graduated high school early, I started giving in-person private lessons to students while attending music college. I then moved to attend a different university in Florida, and began teaching online to continue with my previous and now new students.

    All ages and skill levels!

    - Find your muse or inspirational musician.

    - Find your goals. Setting goals not only helps you and your teacher set up for success, but it gives you a sense of purpose and excitement!

    - Find a teacher that makes you feel like you have a lot you can learn from them.

    - If you're unsure about choosing a teacher, start out with just one lesson to get a feel for what working with them would be like. The teacher should make you feel comfortable to ask questions and always encourage you to learn and grow.
