About
I teach according to how each student learns. I don't give cookie-cutter lessons. I make sure the process is more about them and about how they enjoy learning and growing in music. If my students are successful, I am successful.
I love watching the light come on, when music begins to make sense to my students. It's a wonderful journey helping people to learn to speak the language of music!!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My process for working with a new student is to get them comfortable with me first of all. I'll talk to them for a few minutes and find out a little bit about them and let them ask me questions as well. I will then have them play for me so I can evaluate where to start them with their lessons. If a student is a beginner, I like to start by getting them familiar with the layout of the piano.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Yes I do. For my online lessons I charge $25 per half hour lesson. My students pay by the month in the first week of each month.
How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching and the suggestion of my piano teacher when I was 17 years old. I have been teaching off and on for 29 years and I have been teaching full time for the last 6 years.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with 4 year olds, up to 70 year olds and many ages in between. Most of my students are school age but I have also taught several of my student's parents who decided they would like to learn to play the piano as well.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Two things that are very important to look for in a teacher.
1. Make sure the teacher is dependable.
2. You want a teacher who knows how to teach you. Not everyone learns the same way so teachers should not teach every student the same way. It's important that a teacher knows how to teach every one of their students effectively.
