About

I take a customized approach to learning and I use the student's strengths to build up their weaknesses and help them become a more balanced musician. We take into account their goals and build a strategy based off their needs. I like to have fun and make learning enjoyable for both myself and the student!

I learn so much from my students, so I love that the growth is reciprocated simultaneously when I teach music. It's a win-win for everyone and makes the process that much more enjoyable!

I enjoyed taking piano lessons with Kelsey a lot. She inspired me to try new pieces of music I probably never would have attempted on my own and then we worked through them together --- sometimes measure by measure. I feel like I learned a lot from her and felt like we probably grew together in many ways.

We loved working with Kelsey!! She taught all three of my kids, and from day one-they were gushing about how much fun they had! We were so sad to say goodbye when she moved, we loved watching the kids play in her recitals she hosted. Shes such a joy to meet and shes absolutely GREAT with kids! I definitely would recommend her! :)

Kelsey is a wonderful teacher-very fun and entertaining to work with, which always made learning fun for my daughter! She knows how to work with the students strengths to help them build up their confidence and make them feel like they excel easily. We took lessons with her for 3 years before she moved away, we were all very sad to say goodbye but know she has a great teaching future ahead of her!

    Frequently asked questions

I always offer a beginning trial lesson to make sure it's a good fit. During our first lesson, we will assess your current musical knowledge, goals, strengths & weaknesses, and favorite genres/artists. Then we get right to work on learning how to read music and picking a song for you to start on. I aim to get my students excited to learn as fast as possible, so I can help them reach their goals quickly and efficiently. I also have a recital for my students a couple times a year, so they can show off their skills!

I have been playing piano for 25 years and teaching for over 13 years. I studied piano performance in college and have been playing and gigging consistently since graduating. I'm very passionate about what I do!

I offer family discount of 15% off as well as a referral discount: you can get your next lesson for FREE for every new sign up you send me!

I had friends ask me to teach them in high school and I fell in love with teaching ever since!

I've had students as young as 5 years old, and up to 65 years old! It's never too late or too early to start a music education!

There's too many to count! I have a new student who just successfully started reading music at her second lesson, and she was just so excited about it, it made me so happy to see that!

Make sure you like your teacher-learning won't be fun if your teacher is a GRINCH! Do a few trial lessons to be sure it's a good fit. If it's not, don't force yourself to continue just because you feel bad-be open and honest with your teacher, they will understand. Get a least a few referrals to know you're getting a great experience. And most importantly-HAVE FUN!!!

What are your goals? Current strengths and weaknesses? Favorite genres/artists? Any previous experiences?
