About
I take a customized approach to learning and I use the student's strengths to build up their weaknesses and help them become a more balanced musician. We take into account their goals and build a strategy based off their needs. I like to have fun and make learning enjoyable for both myself and the student!
I learn so much from my students, so I love that the growth is reciprocated simultaneously when I teach music. It's a win-win for everyone and makes the process that much more enjoyable!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I always offer a beginning trial lesson to make sure it's a good fit. During our first lesson, we will assess your current musical knowledge, goals, strengths & weaknesses, and favorite genres/artists. Then we get right to work on learning how to read music and picking a song for you to start on. I aim to get my students excited to learn as fast as possible, so I can help them reach their goals quickly and efficiently. I also have a recital for my students a couple times a year, so they can show off their skills!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been playing piano for 25 years and teaching for over 13 years. I studied piano performance in college and have been playing and gigging consistently since graduating. I'm very passionate about what I do!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$30/30min
$40/45min
$50/60min
I offer family discount of 15% off as well as a referral discount: you can get your next lesson for FREE for every new sign up you send me!
How did you get started teaching?
I had friends ask me to teach them in high school and I fell in love with teaching ever since!
What types of students have you worked with?
I've had students as young as 5 years old, and up to 65 years old! It's never too late or too early to start a music education!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
There's too many to count! I have a new student who just successfully started reading music at her second lesson, and she was just so excited about it, it made me so happy to see that!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure you like your teacher-learning won't be fun if your teacher is a GRINCH! Do a few trial lessons to be sure it's a good fit. If it's not, don't force yourself to continue just because you feel bad-be open and honest with your teacher, they will understand. Get a least a few referrals to know you're getting a great experience. And most importantly-HAVE FUN!!!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are your goals? Current strengths and weaknesses? Favorite genres/artists? Any previous experiences?
