About
Still passionate about teaching after almost 30 years I am new to Florida and looking for students. I taught and performed in the Boston area since graduating from Berklee College of music in 1994. I taught in students homes, owned my own studio for 14 years and taught at multiple other studios in the Boston area. I also have a masters degree from Lesley College in special education.
I teach all ages and levels, classical to rock. I take pride in supporting well rounded musicians focusing on reading and improv, theory, ear training and songwriting with emphasis on what interests my students the most.

Master Music Teacher! Lori knows her stuff and better yet, she instills love and enjoyment in the process with her students! My son gripes about doing most things... but loves leaving to Loris lessons. Its nice seeing him so positively reinforced. Hes building intrinsic confidence. Lori is the best!!!

Lori has been giving lessons to my now 10-year old son since well before the pandemic (5-6 years?). My son can be a shy, awkward kid, but both in-person and remote, Lori has formed a great, warm bond with him. For remote lessons, I try to give them space, but love overhearing snippets of their conversations, questions he now feels comfortable asking. Lori goes with his interests, teaching him songs that hes into, but is also careful that he doesnt completely dodge less immediately appealing material that is critical to his development (and which he often comes around to liking). She is kind and patient and flexible -- but also persistent. Shell gently nudge until my son learns what he needs to. They have a great relationship, hes learning a lot, even composing a bit, and most important hes getting a genuine love and appreciation for music. We are so grateful to have found her.

I loved how Lori GENUINELY cares about her students. She can talk about every one and his or her needs. She very often goes over time with the students. And when the lesson is over with the student, Lori continues working on their project so all will be well-prepared for next week. I have rarely if ever seen a teacher who super-duper really really cares about her students and their progress. She’s a great teacher!
