Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I typically will call the student's family or the student to learn about the student, their goals, their preferences, and why they really want to take lessons ( particularly older children, teens, and adults.) In this way, I can establish from the start a customized approach to their learning and make sure that they know that my focus is on their satisfaction and also, on instilling the joy of music in my students, above all. I believe also that students should never be tied to contracts or have to pay ahead. You pay at the time of service, unless you prefer a different plan, and in this way, I try to be sure that the student always WANTS to do music, and never feels forced.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
21+ years of private lesson experience- over 18,000 students taught.
Experienced with students with ASD, and special needs. ( 21+ years)

How did you get started teaching?
I began playing at 4, and was taught by Count Basie. My step dad was later leading the Count Basie Orchestra and touring most of my life, so you can truly see that music influenced me!
