About
AT THE PRESENT TIME, ALL PIANO LESSONS ARE VIRTUAL. ALSO, BEGINNER PIANO LESSONS ARE NOT POSSIBLE SINCE IN-PERSON CONTACT IS CRUCIAL FOR STARTING PIANO.
VOICE LESSONS ARE NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE DUE TO THE AUDIO DEFICIENCIES OF ZOOM AND OTHER MEETING APPS. I AM WORKING ON A SOLUTION FOR THIS PROBLEM.
I teach both piano and voice in a friendly and educational atmosphere. My students learn music history and theory, piano literature, and vocal literature. I organize and present two recitals each year. I have been teaching and performing for 42 years, and have experience preparing students for all types of auditions and competitions.
Everything! Music is my life, and every one of my students is the best!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Students with previous formal training are evaluated to determine their level and given the appropriate books and/or repertoire. For the first weeks, I look for areas where the student may need review, extra attention, or additional materials.
New students are introduced to the piano with an exploration of the workings of the physical instrument. A beginning lesson book is provided which begins the process of learning to read music, hand position, rhythm and identification of the keys on the piano.
A new voice student starts with simple warm-up exercises, explanations of how the lungs, vocal cords, and diaphragm work, and the choosing of songs appropriate for beginning singers.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
B.A. Music Education, voice and piano
M.M. Performance and Pedagogy.
