About
Relationship with your teacher is the key to a successful learning environment. As a seasoned musician and teacher, I love to teach all ages and skill levels. When you allow me to guide you through your journey, expect empathy, compassion, a keen eye, ear and a sense of how you operate, so that I can best help you remove the obstacles in your way.
My goal is to produce efficiency in your practice time by building good habits physically and mentally that, over time, will create healthy skills that your muscles automatically default to. Music skill is nerve/muscle memory. Let's build proper muscle memory together!
Music and performing has been my passion since I was five years old. Having grown up in Los Angeles, and getting started on my professional career in Nashville, Tennessee, I have performed everything from pop, folk and country to musical theater and opera, as well as accompanying my singers and choirs on piano.
My greatest passion is to create a safe space for my students to find their unique voice and style, and grow in skill both vocally and on piano. I believe every person has the ability to make music. There is no one tone deaf! It is my job as the guide to help each student isolate and remove the obstacles that can get in the way of creating art.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Lessons are 30 minutes or an hour. We begin with body and breath work, then move to technique and vocal exercises, and finally apply all that we have worked on to your vocal literature.
Vocal exercises are applicable to all styles of music.
Virtual Lessons are recorded over Zoom for your convenience in order to have a recording to playback and practice with or watch. In-person lessons can be recorded with your own device or via Zoom.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Music Degree vocal performance pedagogy and have worked with Linda Ottsen and Vincent Sorisio in Southern California, Shirley Zielinski in Nashville, Richard Miller at Oberlin Conservatory, and Bennie Gillette in Munich, Germany. I have sung with the Santa Barbara Civic Light Opera, Tennessee Opera, Nashville Symphony, Ventura Master Chorale, German - American Chorus, and many others.
