Lessons In Composition, Improvisation, Electronic And Concert Music
About
In Ofir's lessons, students play piano and keyboards, train their ear, read and write music notation, invent music, twist knobs (the future is here!), record in channels, and work with music software.
Ofir is practicing musicianship with his students, with emphasis on innovation. He is offering a path to the music world as a whole, regardless genre, for all ages and levels.
Ofir Klemperer (born in Israel 1982) is a pianist, composer, improviser, singer/song writer, and producer.
He received his Bachelor and Master degrees in music composition at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, the Netherlands.
Leaning heavily on the analogue synthesizer the Korg MS-20, Ofir's music is melodic in its core, and through orchestrating classical instruments along with punk-rock and electronics, he applies to his melodies an experimental approach and Noise.
Ofir's music has been performed internationally, selected cities include: Athens, Tel Aviv, Amsterdam, Belgrade, Brussels, and Sao Paolo. His work has been featured in Bolzano Jazz Festival in Italy, MATA Festival for new music in NYC, and in Musikprotokoll in Graz, Austria.
Ofir is currently located in Atlanta, Georgia.
In addition to composing and performing music, Ofir is a fan of action and comedy films and series. He likes being in nature, and spending time with his wife Kate, their daughter, and their cat Frida-Nikita-Lovita-Velvita.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
It takes up to four lessons to get set, comfortable, and passionate about what we want to achieve.
Then, we will get into a routine of working on several parallel aspects of music in every lesson.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a master degree in music composition from the royal conservatory in The Hague, Netherland
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$35/30 minutes
$55/60 minutes
How did you get started teaching?
Colleagues often ask me to sit with them and further their knowledge in electronics, with playing synthesizers more as instrumentalists, with recording themselves, and with arranging their music to play with others.
I started teaching young students after a parent came to me in the end of a show and asked me to come and improvise with her 6 year old son.
What types of students have you worked with?
I taught colleagues who are advanced professional musicians, and I taught kids in the age 6-18 with no experience.
My lessons will fit best students who have some sort of experience. Even a self taught student for a few month.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
In general, the more time you spend with your instrument, the more comfortable you will be with it the next time you touch it.
Do not wait for someone else to tell you what to do.
If you want to play- you can play and use any spare moment you have playing.
Just fool around.
