*Grade 8 Piano and Theory, ABRSM

I am a with 20 years of experience in teaching children and adults.

My music education and teaching experiences has led me to develop a highly unique approach for music learning where classical music is used in conjunction with the music education philosophies of renowned music educators such as Suzuki, Orff, Dalcroze and Kodály.

Through innovative lessons which include playing with accompaniment, children develop musical ear and understand piano techniques and musical concepts that will serve as a valuable foundation for more advanced musical development.

Having worked in several teaching positions, I have enjoyed meeting and working with many varied personalities. I use my piano playing to facilitate an exploration of music in which all students can participate. Through this participation, I give students the opportunity to enjoy making music as I have, and to reap the benefits of increased academic performance, aural and memory skills, and self-confidence.

Piano lessons objectives include

Building a sound technical musical background of tone, rhythm and transposition

Educate students in keyboard knowledge and sight reading skills

Ear training and improvisation skills

Exposing students to variety of repertoire and musical styles

Preparing students for recitals, public performances, volunteering opportunies, and competition.
