About
The best way to reach me about starting lessons is via text, at 208 - 391 - 8338. My after-school studio hours are typically on a waitlist, but there’s always a chance that I may have an opening coming soon. For home school students and adults with the option of coming for a daytime lesson Mon - Thurs, I have more availability.
The basis of my teaching philosophy is that any student can establish a love and appreciation of music through guided practice, developing their skills and creativity, and having fun. This is applicable regardless of the area of study – harp, piano, ukulele and even vocal performance.
As a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher, I aim to provide a comprehensive music education through weekly lessons that are tailored to my students’ needs and interests. I believe in teaching a strong core of music theory, technique, sight-reading, and ear training so my students have a well-balanced musical education.
During private lessons, we spend time learning repertoire and theory fundamentals, while reserving time for study of ear training, composition, and creative music activities that reinforce the concepts we are reviewing.
I find it very important to develop games and assignments that are adapted to my students’ learning styles and curricula objectives, while incorporating standards of Idaho’s “Certificate of Achievement Program”. I also place an emphasis on classical repertoire, however I believe that it is important for students to study a variety of genres in order to develop their own goals and interests, while providing a solid foundation of musical understanding.
Teaching is incredibly rewarding to me because I am able to help my students grow and develop their creative abilities, as well as learning the power of communication through music.

Frequently asked questions
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As the daughter of elementary school and college teachers, I was lucky to have parents who valued my music education. I began studying classical music at age 5 on the piano, and started studying the harp at age 8. As an avid vocalist, I participated in Honors Choir and the Florida Vocal Associations’s All-State Choir at secondary school. I have many years teaching experience, and have been a private instructor at Old Boise Music Studios for 4 years. I am presently double majoring an AA in Business and Liberal Arts at CWI, and a BA in Music Business and Performance with a Minor in Marketing at BSU. I am also a student of the International Harp Therapy Academy in pursuit of a Music Therapy Certification. I actively seek to further my professional development as a teacher through collegiate study and by attending music teacher association events.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I work as a volunteer for Treefort Music Festival, as well as Radio Boise! I love being able to take part in our music community.
