CHOI Music Studio
About
I have many years of violin teaching experience in addition to an international performing career and solid education from the renowned schools in the U.S. and in Germany.
I received my Bachelor of Music and Master of Music in Violin Performance at the Indiana University in Bloomington, where I also learned violin pedagogy. Then, I went to Germany and obtained another Master of Music and a Konzertexamen, the highest possible degree for violin performance in Germany. During the years of my studies, I worked with world-renowned musicians like the concertmaster of the Berlin Philharmonic.
In addition to receiving the top-notch education, I have continued my performing career, performing extensively as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral musician in classical venues, such as the Berlin Konzerthaus, Munich Hercules Hall, and the Cadogan Hall in London. I took a part in CD recordings with the Rheinische Philharmonie Koblenz and Mainzer Virtuosi and in the broadcasting of a solo performance of Mozart Concerto No.4 in Germany.
As an active educator, I taught violin and mentored students in public schools and music academies including the IU String Academy and the state music academy of Rheinland-Pfalz in Germany. Not only have I taught one-on-one violin lessons from the beginning to advanced level of ages 4 through 60+ for many years, I also have coached chamber music and directed string ensembles.
