Born in Mexico City, started piano lessons at age four. In 1993 she enrolled in the pre-college program at the State of Mexico Music Conservatory. She received her Bachelor's degree with honors. She has performed in important concert venues in Mexico, the United States, and Canada, including, the National Center of the Arts and the National University’s Cultural Center in Mexico City. She has been a finalist and prize winner in several competitions and has held grants and scholarships from different cultural and government institutions. Her interest in teaching led her to complete a Piano Pedagogy minor and she became the youngest teacher at the State of Mexico Music Conservatory. Maribel has performed for Ursula Oppens in the first Piano Festival at the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University in 2010 and she has received scholarship for the 2010 and 2011 SICPP festival (Summer Institute of Contemporary Performance Practice).In 2011, she completed her Master's degree at the Chicago College of the Performing Arts working with Professor Jorge Federico Osorio.

Maribel Hernandez Tagle is a certificated Suzuki Piano Method teacher and a current member of Hyde Park Music Institute faculty, Music Teachers of Hyde Park and National Music Teacher Association.
