Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
In a typical 50 minute class I will streach and do a basic rythm warm up- to gage the level of the student. Then I will ask ask if there is anything spacific they would like to work on. Then I will choose from all the different training and experience that best fits. Then I will have them show case by practicing freestyling in the chypher (improv dancing in the middle of a cirlce) performing in frount of our group (and parents for younger kids) any skills sets I have taught them. At the end of class I'll let them know what they can expect next time!

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I typically have a $70/ hour minimum. So I can do a private lesson for that ammount or if there is more kids- or two classes- I can charge less.
How did you get started teaching?
I was a typical case of a reckless teenager- untill my parents sent me to military school- I learned how to be more self diciplined, at least on the out side. In collage- I hit a low point emotionally and went back to partying and fighting again. All the sudden Jesus turned my life around after saying a simple prayer at a ministry on New Years Eve. I imediatley lost a desire to drink and smoke and was amazed by the new found love I felt. Knowing the feeling was here to stay- I wanted to protect my new found hope- I changed my old freind group, and started getting involved with ministry. I stopped party and stayed at home alot on the weekends. So I wouldnt get board- I picked up dance as a hobby. My military trainiing came in handy- I trained every day for an hour before school and some times on the weekends for hours by my self. Dance is still new- exciting and enjoyable. I began teaching friends. I joined a dance crew. We performed at Churches and open mics. I started to intigrate dance into the ciriculums I was designing for the schools I worked at. I got hired at a start up studio- The rest was history- I love dance, and I want to share this fabulous way God gifted me with to hold on to my hope! 10 years later I am still sharing and have introduce dance theature as a way to share hope inspiring stories! You can see the preview on my website www.hiphope.biz

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Practice at home- and set goals with me (your teacher) in class for your self! Ask questions about dance and career to stay motivated.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Do I have faith to beileive in my self being a great dancer? Can I picture that?
What does my sucess as a dancer look like?
What are my goals in Dance?
Am I respecting authority? (the only way I could learn is by respecting who is teaching me) Whos is going to want to teach me if I dont respect them as the authority?
Am I diciplined in my own life? Can I do somethign new even if it feels akward?
Can I not take things personally so I dont let others drama get in the way of my own sucess?
