She really stresses not only technical ability, but also focuses on understanding and appreciating the music being learned. She really wants every student to play well and to enjoy the process. I feel like she can explain anything in a way that I can understand better.

I highly recommend Marina. She is very professional and passionate about teaching piano and connects extremely well with her students. She is patient and kind and, at the same time, has high standards and does not hesitate to point out to the student where they need to focus. She is fun and upbeat and a joy to have as my childrens teacher.

She is an excellent teacher. I am an older student who came to her with several bad habits and over the last couple of years she has helped overcome them. I am currently playing at a level I never thought would be possible. Also, her performance skills are outstanding. No matter how difficult the piece you are attempting to play she can usually demonstrate how to play it correctly.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I use Faber Piano Adventures as a starting point. I work a lot on correct hand position (often overlooked), and develop the basic musicianship as well as ability to read music. I introduce my students to classical music.

All levels from beginners to advanced 4,5-75+ years old.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
There is no licensing for music teachers. Make sure your teacher has both undergraduate and graduate degrees in music, and adequate teaching experience. Ask for references from former students.
