Suttner String Studio

I attended Butler University and taught school orchestra for 5 years before staying home with my sons. I now have a private studio ranging from ages 5 to adult and teach in the Carmel and Indianapolis area.

Lessons are either 30 or 45 minutes per week. Beginners are recommended to start with a 30 minute lesson and more advanced students needing more time might be encouraged to take a longer lesson.

I tailor the lessons to the student’s skill level, needs and interests. I typically use the Suzuki lesson books for material, but also will help students with orchestra pieces or audition material. I am familiar with the method books many orchestra programs use. More advanced students will work on scales, etudes and other material.

I encourage students to participate in their school orchestras and audition for local youth orchestras. I offer several recital opportunities per year. Students are encouraged to participate in ISSMA Solo and Ensemble contest if their school program offers.
