Violin Studio Of Thomas York
About
Hi There! My name is Thomas York. I have 17 years of violin experience and have a passion for music. I have been a concert master at the highschool and college level. I graduated from Baker University with a minor in music and gained knowledge of advanced music theory. I myself took violin lessons throughout highschool and college and had amazing teachers that helped provide the knowledge and experience to be where I am at today with playing the violin.
I believe it is important to not just learn how to improve technique and develop skills, but to also learning how to have fun playing the violin. The violin is a difficult instrument, but when we learn what gives us joy about playing the violin, we become motivated to learn more and better our playing. My philosophy is that students will find motivation to practice through learning fun pieces of music they have always wanted to play along side improving technique and developing new skills.
I will provide a safe and encouraging environment for you to learn in. Making mistakes are a part of learning. I want to provide a space where it is okay to mess up and learn from it. I will be sure to provide constructive feedback to help you become the violinist you want to become.
