Chelley Graves Violin Studio
About
Hi!
My name is Chelley and I have been teaching students like you for a very long time!
I tell you that so you know I am very experienced to help you learn the very best you can, because every student is unique and has a different learning style!
I LOVE TEACHING! There is nothing more rewarding than seeing you get that thing or technique that was really hard and your eyes light up and a big smile breaks across your face! Learning the violin should be rewarding, fun, challenging and exciting!
I started the violin when I was seven years old in Omaha, NE. My family then moved back to Wichita, KS when I was 11 and I grew up through the Youth symphony program.
I was privileged to attend Wichita State University for my undergrad and studied with Andrzej Grabiec, Nancy Luttrell and David Perry.
I was afforded many great opportunities, being accepted into Eastern Music Festival for two summers, where my international quartet took first place in the EMF chamber competition. I also played in masterclasses for Josef Gingold, Pinchas Zucherman and Norman Carol.
I play first violin for the Wichita Symphony and have subbed with many other orchestras.
I have had the opportunity to play back up for Mannheim Steamroller, Rod Stewart, Wayne Newton, Sandi Patty, Michael W Smith, and many more.
Currently, I am the adjunct Strings Professor for Butler CC and have a private studio of 20 students.
I LOVE TEACHING!! When you love what you do, you look forward to it and that's what it's all about!
