Mercer Musical Arts

Lydia Byard Mercer began teaching violin, viola, and fiddle lessons over ten years ago at the age of 15. Since then, she has maintained a thriving studio of of students ranging from 4 year olds to 84 year-olds. Her focus is on helping her students find a deep love and understanding of music. She teaches out of her home studio in the Bon Air Neighborhood of Louisville, KY, and at the Kentuckiana Music Center in New Albany, IN. She is now accepting students at both locations, and is also available to teach online lessons.

I love working with students as they discover their own voice and love of music throught mastery of their instrument. Every student, every lesson, every challenge faced is unique and exciting. There is nothing like watching someone fall in love with music, or seeing the pride on a student's face when they realize how much they have accomplished.
