I offer 1 on 1 lessons to saxophonists and musicians. My goal is to help the student achieve their goals any way that I can. I can teach technique at a very high level and can teach music theory at any level, from reading notes on a staff to secondary dominants and chord theory and beyond.
I love playing music. I'm extremely passionate about it. I've studied at Berklee College of Music and the University of New Orleans. I've been playing in the Lake Charles, LA area since 2014 and have been affiliated with Jazz in the Arts, a non-profit organization focused on helping middle and high school students learn how to play jazz music. I've been taught by the very best Lake Charles has to offer so if you need lessons in saxophone technique, jazz theory, music theory, and jazz history I can help.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My first lesson is usually figuring out where the student needs help and then figuring out ways to help them to make them play to the best of their ability
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've studied at Berklee College of Music and I am now studying jazz at the University of New Orleans. I'm accomplished in the Lake Charles area and have made a name for myself in the jazz scene.

40/hr is my usual rate. Negotiable.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching through Jazz in the Arts and some 1 on 1 lessons. I don't have a degree yet but I'm working hard for a Masters!
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with middle and high schoolers all the way from the very beginning to advanced seniors.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Their comfortability playing major scales, their previous technique training, and most importantly what their goals with our lessons are. I want to help studemts achieve their goals any way that I can.
