KaGo Indian Culinary Lessons
About
I want my students to experience the joys of cooking a real Indian meal at home in traditional Indian style. I am not a professional chef but I have learnt by watching the ladies in my family cook healthy, vegetarian and finger licking food, meal after meal. They would go about narrating all the steps involved along with a brief lesson on what not to do and how to fix it if something goes wrong. This is the kind of experience that I want to bring to the table.
I started cooking because I genuinely enjoy eating tasty and healthy food. Most people think that eating healthy implies eating a bland diet but I am here to change that perception.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I talk to the student before the class to figure out what they would like to learn and if they have any food allergies. The classes run typically for a duration of 2 hours so it is usually an appetizer and a beverage or a simple main course meal or a choice of 2 desserts.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I grew up in India and I have spent most of my growing up years with my paternal and maternal grandmothers. Summer vacations usually meant waking up to the smell of hot filter coffee and delicious dosas (savory crepes). I would spend the afternoons watching my grandmothers pickle raw mangoes or fresh galangal. I am super hands-on and this is the experience that I want to bring to my students.
What types of students have you worked with?
Anyone who is interested in learning more about Indian vegetarian cooking.
