Music Theory: Letting The Music Speak To Us
About

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First lesson is ALWAYS a conversation to understand the student's goals and see how we can work together to meet them- whether beginning or advanced theory, this is how we begin.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BM in organ, music theory and composition as well as a masters degree and DMA in organ and have been teaching theory for more than 35 years as well being an active performer.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$15/ fifteen minutes or $50/hour which leaves flexibility if we need occasional short "check in" classes. I prefer to never teach regularly for less than an hour as a basic standard.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching keyboard theory in graduate school and loved it - my love of theory has always been to find out what the music is actually saying to us which makes it unbelievably fund and interesting!
