Hello! My name is Valeria, I'm a passionate music educator with a diverse background in singing, piano, music production, music theory and songwriting. Originally from Bolivia and now based in Miami, I bring a wealth of experience and love for teaching to my students.
I hold a degree in Contemporary Singing from the National Conservatory of Music, a Bachelor's Degree in "Contemporary Writing and Production" from Berklee College of Music and a Master's in "Music Composition for Film and Music Production" from Frost School of Music.
I have taught music in different forms since 2017, provided in person and virtual lessons, arranged workshops and worked as a college level teaching assistant.
What makes me stand out is my diverse background and extensive experience in teaching various music subjects. One of my strongest skills is explaining complex ideas in a simple and clear manner. Whether I'm teaching music technology or voice training, I ensure my students easily grasp the concepts.

When is a very creative person and she can demonstrate that in her way to compose, arrange and produce. Her music is full with beauty, fantasies and surprises, her melodies are well though that helps and enrich to the songs even more.
As a teacher she is very patience and always looking for make her self clear in any topic to explain for the clases.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
In the first class, I evaluate the student's knowledge on the matter, I ask about their background and experience level.
We also talk about the student's goals and objectives and together design a plan to achieve them.
Every student is a different world and I like to make it easy for them to be happy and comfortable with the structure of the lessons.

Yes, it depends on the length of the class, but this is the standard for private lessons:
30 min: $40
45 min: $60
60 min: $70
How did you get started teaching?
I started as a freelance private instructor in my country. I figured I was good at it, I helped the few students I had a that time and I enjoyed it!
Since 2017, I've been teaching back and forth, either in my country or where I currently live - Miami. Now, that I'm a full time freelance music producer, arranger, musician and instructor, I decided to teach more and give me the opportunity to share what I've learnt over the last 10+ years, as well as learn from my students.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with beginners, college students and professionals, from ages 10 to 60 years old, interested to explore their talents and work hard on their skills.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
In one of my recent jobs as an instructor, I taught an undergraduate class of 45 students from "Public University of El Alto" in Bolivia. I was the assistant professor of arranging techniques. This job involved a lot of work but at the end of the course, my student's words and gratitude made me feel that everything was worth it, I felt rewarded only by knowing that I helped this people and they were very happy with having me as their instructor, even by only this short course.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would tell them to check the background of this teacher, do a research on their job and if possible try to have a meeting with the teacher before hiring them! I'm always open and happy to meet a student to briefly discuss about my class structure and clarify all questions.
