Avanthi is my 4yo daughters violin teacher. Neither my daughter nor I had any exposure to the violin prior to starting lessons with Avanthi. But starting from scratch Avanthi has managed to train my daughter in all aspects of the violin, including posture, technique, concepts of music and actually playing songs, all within a year! What’s also amazing is that Avanthi does all this while keeping in mind the students age and attention span which she deals with great patience and fun games. Highly recommend her if you’re looking for a teacher using the Suzuki method!

Avanthi is very passionate and an extremely kind teacher. She and my daughter have been working together for almost a year now and she has done an amazing job helping my daughter become more confident and find a real passion in music. She sets realistic goals for both my daughter and I to work on each week and is very understanding as a teacher.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

The first week we get to know each other! We have indepth conversations with the student and parent just getting a feel for experience, excitement and learning styles. I then talk to the parents about goals and supplies needed to start learning the vioin. I usually start off with an cardboard violin cut out for my younger students in order for them to get a feeling for how to respect and hold the violin with care. For older students, starting off with our first violin is the first step!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I, myself, have been playing the vioin for just over 15 years. I started at a very young age, learned for mutiple amazing violin teachers and even played in extrodinary orchestras and music groups. My personal experience is where I have gotten the most training over the past year and a half, I have worked with multiple students continuously, at first inperson and now over Zoom.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I charge 35 dollars for a 30 minuite lesson and 55 dollars for a hour lesson. Depending on the age, I will recommend how much time the lesson should be, but that can continue to change as the student gets more advance or other circumstances.
