B i o g r a p h y
Mike Haas is a guitarist/music teacher with over 30 years playing experience and over 19 years teaching experience in private guitar lessons. Mike mainly plays rock/blues/metal, but has also studied jazz and classical at the college level.
M.M. in Music Education UMASS Amherst, Massachusetts.
Currently employed as a middle school band director with over 12 years of experience instructing beginners on flute, clarinet, sax, trumpet, trombone, baritone horn, concert band percussion.
Mike has also played in many tribute, cover, and original bands over the past 18 years.
Mike's goals for lessons have always been about the student learning how to play and understand the guitar, and to empower the student to express themselves through their instrument.
"I have taught private guitar lessons for over 17 years. My experience has shown that a large number of students were taught how to play songs, but never taught how to play the instrument. My goal is to teach you what you need to know to become successful on the guitar and discover your own playing."
