About
Every lesson is customized to the specific student, their needs and learning style.
Every month we have a performance class -- this teaches the ability to perform, which is not something you can teach in a private lesson. Twice a year we have recitals, with a complete mix of music and abilities. All the students support one another. Piano and vocal solos -- piano and vocal duets -- trios -- quartets and studio ensembles/group numbers.
I am the director of childrens music ministries at a local church -- and have been for 16 years. I teach handbells and xylophone to the children, too. I participate in our yearly Christmas Cantata and so do the children!
In support of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America -- I volunteer at a local club teaching group piano, handbells and chorus! Music touches the soul. I love to share the music!
Being a member of Sweet Adelines for over 38 years, I have sung in award-winning choruses, placing in the top 10 in the world. This organization has incredible coaching and regional weekends with exceptional classes. I have sung with fantastic quartets and have coached quartets, as well. I get to share all this knowledge with my students!
I LOVE to teach -- students who want to learn and are eager to find their personal excellence! I teach ages 4 to 88. Adults are great students, they are highly motivated to do their best -- and for many, being able to sing or play the piano has been on their bucket list for years!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Every student is different. I take the time to evaluate how they best learn. I have a meeting first, to listen to what their dreams and desires are. If it is an adult, we formulate a lesson plan together. If it is with a child, a lesson plan is formulated with the parent.
