I teach music lessons to students of all ages virtually when and where it fits their schedules best! I've been a music educator for over 24 years teaching 4th - 12th grade instrumentalists in concert bands, jazz bands, and chamber ensembles. My principal instrument is trumpet though I am able to teach all brass, and beginning woodwinds and percussionists.

I Charge $75 per 60-minute lesson and $45 per 30-minute lesson. This includes: thorough analysis of the student's current knowledge of music theory and reading music notation; technique; tone production; articulation; and range with the use of dynamics. I will then work with the student to improve these skills and develop the tools needed to play various styles of music as a soloist, small ensemble member, and/or large ensemble musician.

Dara Adams-Smith has been a free-lance trumpeter and a band director in the Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts for twenty years. She is the director of bands and music technology at Hampshire Regional Middle and High School in Westhampton, MA and she has just completed her second year as the 4th-6th grade band director at the William E. Norris School in Southampton, MA. She teaches digital audio recording applications such as Logic Pro X, very beginner piano, beginning woodwinds, brass, drum set, and mallet percussion, with extensive experience teaching beginning through advanced trumpet students. She holds a BM in Performance / Music Production & Engineering from Berklee College of Music and a Master of Arts in Teaching Secondary Music Education from the University of New Hampshire.

I enjoy seeing students make progress whether they make tiny steps from week to week or huge leaps in musical growth. Seeing students master a skill and them demonstrate it during a concert or audition is very rewarding.
