About this pro

I teach "Virtual" Or "In Studio" Piano Lessons For Students Age 4.5 - Adults. Beginning-Intemediate-Advanced Levels.

I'm a Chinese Artist In Piano + Violin & Teacher in Northampton Area, MA. A family noted "Miss Yu is a very gifted teacher who has high standards and is also warm and encouraging". I teach Classical-Jazz-George Gershwin's Music. My Innovative Approach to Piano has inspired many adult and children students from reading music, capable of playing quickly, and to advancing the play beautifully. I use good selective books to take care of fundamentals. In addition, I select pieces to fit each student's style. I'm a detail oriented teacher who catches mistakes + bad learning habits and do not let slip off. I consistantly keep track of student's week-week materials to work at it until secured. All lessons are taught on grand pianos in my Custom Designed Studio. My Group Lesson for Siblings & Young Children 4-6 year olds are quite popular.  My current students are age 4 - 75. Lesson Days: Week Day - Weekend.

Nothing can be better than teaching. You learn as you teach; you gain knowledge from confronting what you can to make happen for the teaching and learning process go well. A joy to be around with varieties of music and students every day.

My two grandchildren have loved playing piano since the 1st lesson with Ms Yu. They practice on their own because her teaching method opens the door right away to fun with the keyboard AND discipline.

My two kids are now 10 and 13 year old and have been taking lessons from Ms Yu since younger. They have vastly different learning styles and quite different degrees of comfort with music starting out, but Ms Yu has genuinely connected with them both. She has helped them to find the joy of music, as well as an astonishing degree of technical competence in sight reading, finger strength, passion across many different musical styles, especially considering that's only a year and half we've practiced with Ms Yu. Her lessons are playful and empowering.

We love having piano lessons with Ms Yu! She is so great at keeping my 7 yr old son focused and engaged, which is a meaningful and essential skill for a young child. And on top of it, he gets to learn playing piano!

Ms Yu provides great piano lesson experience for adults and children! I started by taking my 6 yr old to Ms Yu and then started taking lessons myself (having taken lessons as a child). Professional and knowledge, Ms Yu works well with children and meets them where they are while helping them to progress and improve.
