About
Offering distance learning opportunities and, beginning June 1, 2021, in-person lessons from a veteran music teacher. Skype, FaceTime, or Zoom lessons currently available.
The studio is located in historic Devens (formerly Fort Devens), about five minutes from Route 2, with easy access to the surrounding towns of Harvard, Groton, Shirley, Ayer, and several others. My students are in Devens, Boxborough, Acton, Maynard, Groton, Lunenburg, Leominster, Lancaster, Shirley, Hudson, Marlborough, and more!
The studio is well-ventilated (windows on three sides, air purifier in place), and I am fully vaccinated as is everyone in my household.
With over twenty years of teaching experience and Master's degree in music, I have an abundance of patience, a wealth of ideas and strategies at my fingertips, an ability to connect with students, and a finely-tuned ear.
My background includes working with all ages of students: as adjunct professor of music teaching violin, piano, and chamber music to college students; as maker of joyful music with littles; as instructor of violin and piano to folks returning to music in their retirement; as assistant director of an SATB community choir and a Unitarian Universalist congregation; as music and chorus teacher of elementary and middle school students; and a variety of other educational roles — many overlapping.
I love helping students discover and grow their interests and talents. Let’s see what we can create together!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Consistency is key, especially for beginning students, so I will work with you to find a day and time that suits your family's needs.
In December and June, students will have the opportunity to perform in low-stress recitals for family, friends, and other students and their families.
My students are encouraged but not required to participate in a year-end recital and in smaller performances throughout the year. There is no recital fee.
