Peter's Violin Lessons
About
I wish help facilitate the music making process by being a mentor for people who want to enrich their lives with music. I have been studying the violin for about 15 years in Massachusetts where I was born and raised. I completed by bachelor degree in Music at Umass Amherst studying with Liz Chang and other faculty members. I have performed at a number of vennues in Worcester, and Amherst.
I believe that the power of music can do astounishing things in a young persons life. Music can teach someone discipline, and empathy which can help change their lives and enrich the lives of the people around them. Music brings together communities unlike any other activity and it is just an absolute priviledge to beable to be an advocate for such a process.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
With a new student that I feel has no formal training with the violin I will start off with exercises which will develope good habits as well as building a strong basic foundation for their playing. Once I feel like they have a grasp of the exercises, and the student displays a correct posture then I will incorporate etudes and maybe a beginner violin piece for them to work on throughout our lessons. I will not rush a new student but rather use my best judgement to push the student in a very cautious manner in order to prevent them from feeling overwhelmed or feeling like they are in a race. Learning music should be a journey which we can cherish every second of.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have studied violin with Liz Chang and Reggie Pineda. I have also attending a number of masterclasses and music camps in Amherst, Worcester, and New Hampshire.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I will offer the first lesson with me for free. Prices are flexible depending on what the student can afford. I am very reasonable so lets negotiate a price which fits your budget.
How did you get started teaching?
I got started teaching from doing volunteer work in the Amherst area, going to the public schools in the area and helping with the string ensembles. I fell in love with teaching the students in those areas and made it my mission to become the best possible music educator I can be.
