About

If there's something I learned after 25 years of teaching is that learning how to play an instrument is fun!

The gradual discovery of the music students really like and the process of helping them to do it is a never ending source of delight. I try to create a genuine connection for the students to feel comfortable exploring music and themselves.

Music and teaching are the passions of my life. Music teaches us that work can be a source of immense joy. I want my students to learn to cultivate that joy while making music. Basically, to realize that work (practice in our case) can be fun. It depends on us

Andrea is a positive teacher. She can find the progress in the most desperate playing. I really enjoyed studying with her. My piano playing improved immensely and my musicianship grew. I took lessons as an adult who first began piano as a child. My children also took lessons with her when they were young. She was a great teacher for all of us. I would still be studying with Andrea if I had not moved out of the area.

Andrea started teaching my child when she was in middle school, and has continued throughout high school. She has always been attentive to expanding my daughters interest in different musical genres and committed to finding music pieces that inspire her. She regularly checks to make sure Fiona is committed to all choices, and makes sure the pace & complexity are well-matched to whats going in Fionas life over the seasons of each year. Andreas ongoing enthusiasm, positivity and support about music have provided a great musical foundation and lifelong commitment to making music (I hope!).

Andrea is always kind, enthusiastic and very encouraging to the children. She cheers them along the way as they learn a new piece and has a way to be positive even when they are making mistakes or havent practiced as much as they should have. Andrea is able to make learning piano a joyful experience, while in a safe and loving environment.

    Frequently asked questions

I believe the most important thing regardless of age, is that the student feels comfortable emotionally.

The material is introduced gradually, respecting the pace and unique way of learning of each student. Music is made from the very first lesson.
