About
I'm a fun and free-spirited instructor who strives to inspire students with the same joy I receive from music. I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Business/Management (principal instruments: violin and voice). My career in the music industry has ranged from artist management, record labels, and recording studio management all while teaching violin/fiddle in my spare time. Since 2008, I have run a high-end classical recording studio in which I have the pleasure to work with world-class artists every day.
I strive to strike a careful balance between classical technique and pop performance. I want my students to have fun and fuel the desire to become better musicians. I use the Suzuki Method in conjunction with my own method for learning music theory and ear training. I always ask my students what they're listening to and what they would like to play - I'm open to virtually any genre. I also sprinkle in some traditional songs that I feel the students would benefit from learning.

What types of students have you worked with?
I have been teaching private lessons professionally since I graduated from Berklee in 2006. Prior to college, I tutored younger students for 4 years in my school's strings program for volunteer credit. Many of my students perform in auditioned orchestras and ensembles, including those for college! I have taught students as young as 5 and retirees in their 70's - each student's needs are different so I tailor their lessons around their goals. I am a solutions-driven teacher and love watching my students progress with a big smile on their face!
